The exhibition Memorias de Agua (Memories of Water) held in La Casa Amarilla focuses on the memory of the first water purification plant built in Lanzarote, which was pioneering even beyond the limits of the island. The display puts this momentous event in the history of Lanzarote in context, both from the personal and professional perspective of its promoter, Manuel Díaz Rijo, and from the socio-economic framework of the mid seventies in the previous century, when the water purification plant was installed.
The purification plant was also the cause and the motive for the creation of a formidible team of collaborators to whom this exhibition pays rightful homage in gratitude.
Perhaps this exhibition will not only serve as an illustration, but also as a stimulus to young reearchers, promoting the role of ingenuity and knowledge in collective construction.
