07. Raquel: Fashion, Art and
the New Femininity.

Lanzarote is her inspiration.
Wind-swept palms, volcanoes, camels,
figures that appear when she lets herself be carried away
by the lines she sketches.
Raquel has found her refuge in Lanzarote. The island gives her the tranquillity and the concentration she could never find elsewhere. She feels that there’s no need to go to a city to create; Lanzarote has more than enough to give so she can create things that are more authentic, more sincere and more hers.

In Lanzarote, time doesn’t exist, or time goes slower. She believes this is true, that here one lives with a different timescale, with a different rhythm, and sometimes it seems as if no time passes at all, as if time doesn’t matter and things can be done differently.

Her collection 28° 7° has a lot to do with the island, with the memories of her childhood. In it we can see the cultural references, and the clear tribute to Agustín Espinosa and César Manrique, local benchmarks of universal spirit.
All these elements are for her an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
