Concierto ‘A pies y manos’
Benito Cabrera, Tomás Fariña y Jep Meléndez
* Informazioni disponibili in spagnolo
A pies y manos, a timple, body percussion, and tap dance. This is the basic outline on which to build a scenic production that navigates through the Canary Islands tradition, looking for a contemporary aesthetic and creating a proposal that combines unusual elements. The timple player Benito Cabrera, the guitarist Tomás Fariña, and the dancer and choreographer Jep Meléndez connect artistically through a sensory trip that explores emotions.
Timple and dance maintain a flow of communication in which tradition, transgression, and the search of limitless spaces go hand in hand in order to experience an identity that avoids stereotypes. The show surprisingly combines different aesthetics. It starts from the local to the universal, with its own compositions and opinions on tradition, both in terms of body and musical expression.
