Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water is celebrated in the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote during the month of May. Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water swimming is an event open to all audiences, from professional athletes who need the adrenaline of the competition, to casual swimmers just looking for fun. It also includes a children’s circuit for the little ones can take up the sport of swimming.
Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water is made under the modality of Open Water and has two distances of 3,800 meters and over 1,900 meters. The event is divided into three categories, Masters, Junior and Child, and has Insurance Liability proper permits, doctors, in addition to its own staff and volunteers. In addition to a large service area on the beach that allows participants to have maximum comfort at all times.
Puerto del Carmen is situated in the southern-central part of the island, some 10 minutes away from the international airport, and is Lanzarote’s main tourist area. It grew from just a small fishing village with few inhabitants to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Canary Islands.
Puerto del Carmen’s success is largely owed to the more than 6 km of beaches that line its coast, its calm and peaceful waters and its rewarding natural surroundings. Running parallel to the coast is the Avenida de las Playas, a broad promenade that combines all kinds of tourist services on the one hand, such as shops, businesses, cafés, restaurants and leisure arcades, and miles of peaceful beaches on the other.
